In the Grand Event Center

A country-rock band from Lubbock, Texas, Pecos and the Rooftops fuse earthy rural grit with a low-key brand of chugging midtempo rock. When their slow-grooved single "This Damn Song" became an unlikely streaming hit, label interest grew and in early 2023 the band inked a deal with Warner Bros. They made their full-length debut in June of that year. A group of old college friends from Lubbock, Pecos Hurley (vocals, guitar), Brandon Jones (rhythm guitar), Sheldon Baker (lead guitar), Kalen Davis (bass), and Kris Stephens (drums) began jamming together casually, hanging out and playing cover songs. They were barely a band in 2017 when a casual jam yielded the bones for what would become their flagship song. Hurley eventually completed the lyrics to the slow-burner "This Damn Song," which grew into a surprise streaming hit when it was released in 2019. After that, Pecos and the Rooftops took their career more seriously, committing themselves to a rigorous schedule of touring, writing, and rehearsals.
